Every pairing here is a real Google Font, loaded on demand — a serif or slab over a neutral sans, true type systems paired the way they were designed, or a loud display face over a quiet body. Click Copy CSS and it's yours.
Display carries the headline, body carries the paragraph. Fonts load from Google on demand as cards render — nothing loads until you scroll to it.
About 30 pairings (marked Staff pick) were chosen and checked by hand. The rest follow fixed rules: under Editorial, a serif or slab carries the headline over a neutral or geometric sans body, or the reverse; Superfamily only pairs fonts from real type systems designed together — IBM Plex, Roboto, Source, PT, Noto, Alegreya, Archivo; Geometric puts a geometric sans headline over a geometric or neutral sans body; Loud puts a heavy, condensed or brutalist display face over a plain, low-contrast sans body; Quiet keeps both restrained, including single-family pairings that just shift weight between headline and body. No pairing repeats. Every font is free and open under its own license (mostly OFL) via Google Fonts — no attribution required.
